Pie crumbs
We tend to think what we experience is what is, but let’s check that against some math.
Imagine everything created is a big donut. There’s some good stuff and some not so good stuff in everything. That’s a little binary. It’s really all good. But let’s say there’s stuff that will serve us right now and stuff that won’t. So say we’re seeking the good stuff. It doesn’t just enter our eyes. Only a fraction of the good stuff gets marketed in some way. I don’t mean Super Bowl commercials. Just marketing in the purest sense, that someone tells the story of that stuff; someone sends that stuff out in the world. Of the stuff that is sent out into the world, even in this connected world, only a fraction reaches our eyes and ears. There’s a ton of content these days and we don’t have a ton of bandwidth. Of the stuff that we see and hear, we only integrate a fraction, really taking it in rather than discarding it. It’s a small slice that last layer of the pie. It’s crumbs compared to the whole.
